Power BI columns with parameter mappings are not supported in highlights

This is a real shame. Parameter mappings are great for the interactive experience and I've used them to vastly improve a Pareto cumulative calculation on a visual from over 60 seconds to less than 10.
Why can't some parameter mapped columns be used on axes and not others?
Why don't some parameter mapped columns support cross-filtering?

At the moment, it looks like this only affects a date table, because I've created two parameter maps from elsewhere in the data model and they work without any issues.

Any ideas?

If you would like to suggest  feature improvements, you may  vote the idea and comment here  to improve this feature. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products .
