Power BI changes application name in connection string

Hello,
we are using application name in connection string to pass a parameter to db views. The param is used in filter predicate for filtering specific data by security policies. And in reports we set different connection strings for different customers. Recently our reports became broken, because they cannot query data from views. The error is "conversion failed". We found out that this errors happens in security predicate function that expects different application name. So now it looks like '{OurParam},PowerBIPremium-DirectQuery' and this part ',PowerBIPremium-DirectQuery' is something new that we don't expect. We tried to update connection string with ";Application name='{OurParam}'" but this power bi premium part was added again. Was this a deliberate change? We didn't find the description. Will it be permanent, can we assume that this part is static?
