Power BI Embedded Reports not Loading

In the last two days we are experiencing intermitent issues in which Power BI Embedded reports are not loading at all.

The reports are embedded on a web app using "app owns data" workflow via Master Account.

The server logs show 500 errors on calls to api.powerbi.com such as:

https://api.powerbi.com/v1.0/myorg/my_Group_Id_Here/datasets/my_DataSet_Id_Here

Nothing significant has changed on our side.

Is anyone experiencing similar 500 error on Power BI Embedded?

Any advise most appreciated

Hi @donquijote

I would suggest you test again, if the issue still occurs, I would suggest you create a support ticket to get dedicated support.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft

The issue persists.

I created a support case: 119052922001749

I created this case on Wednesday and I would have expected a response by now!

I was able to reproduce the issue by testing my request on:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/datasets/getdatasetingroup#code-try-0

The request is producing 500 when it should normally work.

I am experiencing temporary 500 errors when calling the Power BI Rest API. Specially on the "Datasets - Get Dataset In Group" endpoint.

I was able to reproduce the 500 error directly on:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/datasets/getdatasetingroup

The error seems temporary with multiple calls to different groups - datasets producing the same error around the same time while the same calls work normally (returning 200) after a few minutes.

This is a relatively recent issue. These calls used to work normally after these issues started in the last few days.

I use this call because is part of the Power BI embedded flow described on documentation sample and uses as well in the sample app.

In case it helps I use the App Owns Data workflow with Master Account.

Are these type of server side errors a known behavior or the Power BI Rest API ? If so, is there any recommended practice to handle them on Power BI embedded applications ?
