Power BI Desktop Will Not Open

I'm having issues openening Power BI desktop. It seems to pause at the splash screen during 'Initializing Model'

Then I get the error message "We weren't able to create an empty database in the model"

This happens on multiple different .pbix files and even when just trying to open the application. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, disk cleanup utility, updating windows. The files work on other computers running the same version of Power BI desktop too.

Hi @Anonymous,

I notice your OS is 64 bit, please try to install 64 bit Power BI desktop as well to see if the same issue occurs.
