Power BI Desktop Live Connection Error - Tabular Model

Hi Everyone.

I've installed a new SQL Server Analysis Services instance on Tabular Model for testing with Power BI Desktop. When using the Import option, it works fine.

When setting up a Live Connection, I can see the model and the cube I've created, but when using any attribute or measure in any visualization, It shows the error: Can't Display the visual.

Error Code:
OpenConnectionError

OData Error Message:
Failed to open the MSOLAP connection.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @tbrito,

1. How did you connect to SSAS tabular model in desktop? Just normal server name or HTTP access by configuring MSMDPUMP.dll?

2. If there is another tabular instance, please try to connect to it in a live connection from desktop to check whether the issue related to SSAS server itself.

3. Which desktop version did you run? How about update the desktop to the most recent version 2.45.4704.442?

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
