This isssue is happening for new PowerBI Anaplan Connector.
While editing the PowerBI query, you will see the following screen if the token has expired-
PowerBI is getting this password from cache in the above snapshot. Now, if you click on connect, PowerBI will attempt to authenticate but with wrong password.
As we can see in fiddler trace that Anaplan Authenticate API has returned 401 which happens when user provides wrong password.
How PowerBI picks the password? And why does it obfuscate the password length to 7 characters when it pops the credential box.
Is there a plan to fix this behavior?
