PPT export randomly selects on single select if no selection is made

A user reported that when she exported a workbook to PPT from the online service , the PPT had made selections in the filters that she had not made. In other words, the PPT did not match what she was seeing on the screen. It seemed to happen for single select filters that did not have a selection made. But the PPT did not jsut select the first available in the filter, it seemed to randomly pick one...

Hi @DataDiva,

Based on my test, slicers within the exported PowerPoint show as they were saved in the report.

So in your scenario, please check if the report indeed save the status with the slicer has specific values selected. You can go to the report, check if the Reset to default is highlighted. If it is, please click on it reset to original status of the report, then check if the slicer has any values selected.

Yes, you are right--the PPT exports whatever selections were made in the original uploaded version. This is now a separate problem, because it overrides any selections made in the visualization...

This is a problem because 1) no one expects the Export to PPT to work this way and 2) there is then no way to export what you have selected within Power BI. Why would the default for export be to whatever it was uploaded with? That doesn't make very much sense to me. We have decided to disable this feature, because it is just confusing all of our folks.
