PBI report based on shared dataset crashes client on loading with wrong credentials

Hi,

I experience issues when opening a report based on a shared Power BI dataset with Power BI Desktop (MS Store installer) by double-clicking in Windows Explorer while the client is logged in to the wrong tenant.

The client hangs and never finishes but also doesn't bring up any warning.

@trutz

I cannot reproduce the issue. You may take a look at Using Azure AD B2B.

Hi @v-chuncz-msft ,

Azure AD B2B is of no use here as it doesn't support connecting to shared datasets from other tenants using the Power BI Desktop Client....

Maybe it was a bit unclear what I did.

Power BI Desktop client user signed in: user1@tenant1.com

Tenant in which the dataset resides: https://tenant2.sharepoint.com

User needed to access the dataset: user2@tenant2.com

Maybe it helps you to reproduce the issue.

Kind regards,

Trutz
