Same error here. It works properly before enabling the new preview features. But after enabling them, Power BI Desktop will not open again giving the same error as above

I haven't tried out suggestion by @lauritxi. Maybe some of the new preview features require the above .net version but I don't understand why the whole PBI Desktop will not start just because of enabling preview features. Does this mean the PBI Desktop and features have different system requirement?

I thought IE was dead until I had to be forced to upgrade it because of Power BI desktop

@v-qiuyu-msft, I am using .net 4.5.2. The new version (July 2018 PBI Desktop)  was working properly before I enabled the features (I think it is due to Composite Models). I will try to update to the .net version you have referred.

Power BI Desktop July 2018 version installed in another machine with .net 4.5.2 is still working properly without the new preview features enabled.

Tried to solve it with @lauritxi way, doesn't work.

After uninstalling PBI version 2.60 (July) and revert to the 2.58 or 2.59, it works.

Error was raised after PBI was upgraded to the 2.60.5169.3201, then PBI was started, it opens with no signs of error, and after the new "Composite model" preview option was set on, it raised the error and stops woking. Since after this error raised,  I cannot run 2.60 at all - tried full uninstall and install again, with or without reboot. It just do not opens and stops with the error mentioned in the topic.

All sympthoms looks very close to what @lalthan posted above

I should add that installing of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 (thanks @lauritxi) actually HELPED. (There was an error durig my previous try, now it worked).

But I was not aware of the necessity of such install during PBI Desktop installation and was caught flying.

So I still consider this issue as a bug.
