Oracle connection error on older report, new reports work just fine

Hi All,

Appreciate any suggestions/feedback on this one...

One of our reports was authored about three years ago and has been working quite well.  It connects to several data sources (Oracle, SharePoint, and manually entered data).  It has been working seamlessly until about a week ago - we recently discovered we are no longer able to connect to Oracle. Screenshot of error is below.

Some of the troubleshotting done so far:

1. Data Source Settings - Clear Permissions

2. Uninstall and reinstall PBI Desktop

3. Clear PBI Cache

4. Connect to Oracle in a new, blank desktop file - which does work.  Only receiving the Oracle error in the older report.

Requirements being followed:

1. 64-bit Power BI Desktop is installed on the machine

2. Using 64-bit ODAC 12c Release 4 (12.1.0.2.4) for Windows x64

Everything read so far indicates its an issue/mismatch between the version of PBI Desktop being used and Oracle.  However, what's confusing is it just seems to be this one report not connecting... Like mentioned above, a blank, new PBI Desktop connects without any issues.

Thank you in advance for suggestions/ideas.  Much appreciated!

@Karen_Payne ,

Seems the ODAC is not latest version, please update ODAC to the latest version and check if this issue persists.

Hi Jimmy,

IT was able to uninstall and re-install Oracle but still had the same result.  Do you have other suggestions to try?  Just seems odd that new reports are able to connect, but older reports are not.

Thank you!

Karen
