ODBC connected, Navigator shows no tables

I'm having an issue previously identified here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/ODBC-Can-t-see-tables-in-Navigator/idi-p/12648 but that thread seems to have died; original poster never responded, couple others have posted same issue and no responses.

v-haibl-msft responded to the original post, and reported the issue internally, ref# CRI 32123684.  Then requested a trace log, with no response from the original poster.

I'm connecting to a cTree-ACE SQL db via a proven driver that I use daily in MS Access.  I've done the trace, and want to upload it here for review but not sure how to attach the .log file? If someone can help me attach this file, maybe we can get this issue resolved?

Thanks,

Are you using the latest Aug 2017 version of Power BI Desktop? Did you collect the ODBC trace as follows while performing the operation in question? If yes, you can upload it to online file service like OneDrive and then share it. It is also better to provide a screenshot for your issue.

1) Exit Power BI Desktop.
2) Run the ODBC Data Sources Administrator matching the bitness of the Power BI Desktop installation.
3) Select the Tracing tab.
4) Note the Log File Path or configure a different path that's accessible to your user account.
5) Click "Start Tracing Now" and then OK.
6) Start Power BI Desktop and perform the operation that doesn't work correctly.
7) Close Power BI Desktop
😎 Run the ODBC Administrator again and go back to the Tracing tab, then click Stop Tracing Now
9) Collect the log file generated at the Log File path and send it.

@v-haibl-msft thanks for the reply. Yes, I traced the session exactly as you outlined, the trace log is here:

https://tavala-my.sharepoint.com/personal/dave_tavala_onmicrosoft_com/_layouts/15/guestaccess.aspx?d...

You requested a screenshot; here's a video of my process:

https://www.screencast.com/t/92DQfVWj5wfs

And here's the ODBC DSN (I know it doesn't tell you much):

https://www.screencast.com/t/FfuzvZcpvo6v

Here's the same DSN connecting to the same DB in the latest version of MS Access:

https://www.screencast.com/t/jZTBYxeH30

Although the table's field data shows "#Deleted",  I can query against it, and any grouping makes the data visible--some weird security thing with the cTree ACE db I guess:

https://www.screencast.com/t/hmfSSS8rK

And here's Power BI trying to connect to an Access db with linked tables to my source db:

https://www.screencast.com/t/Yb19DC4K

When I tried to download the Access redistributable 'driver' it killed my Access completely--couldn't even launch Access without getting an error about not having a valid copy/file not being correct ver. even when no file was being opened, etc. It took me an entire day to restore MS Access, so I'll not be trying this option again...

Appreciate any help you can give; if you have any further questions let me know? Thanks! 🙂
