New OneDrive group recreates old style Workspace in Power BI

Creating a new style Workspace no longer creates a OneDrive group and file share.  That's fine.  However, there is a problem if you want to connect the new style Workspace to a new OneDrive group.  When you create a new OneDrive group, an old style Workspace gets automatically created in Power Bi.  You then end up with two Workspaces (one new style and one old style).  If you go into Power BI and delete the old style Workspace, the OneDrive group gets, unceremoniously, deleted.  This seems to be a pretty major oversight.  Is there anyway to create a OneDrive group without having an old style Workspace get automatically creating in the Power BI service?

Hi @rl_evans

Based on my research, there is no OOTB feature for us to prevent Office 365 group from displaying in Power BI service. As long as the user is a member of Office 365 group, the group will displays when the same user accesses Power BI service.
