Measure Home Table Unavailable

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create desktop report (named "Report 1.pbix") with table named "table_mst"
    1. Upload report to Power BI Service
  2. Create new report from this Power BI Dataset (named "Report 2.pbix")
    1. Create measure on table "table_mst" named "test_measure"
  3. Open the original report ("Report 1.pbix") and change the table name to "table_mst_2"
    1. Upload modified report to Power BI Service
  4. Open the new report ("Report 2.pbix")
    1. Two tables will be listed on the right, "table_mst" and "table_mst_2"
    2. "table_mst_2" will have "test_measure" in an error state
    3. Select "test_measure"

The "Home Table:" will be grayed out for "test_measure", making it impossible to move to an active table. The tooltip for "test_measure", however will be turned to "Name: Move measure to another table".

Hi @LukeWalker

I tested in Power BI desktop version 2.70.5494.562 64-bit (June 2019) follow your description, the Report 2.pbix file in step 4 only has one table table_mst_2 and the test_measure is correct without any error. I would suggest you update your Power BI desktop version then test again.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft ,

I may have been ambiguous; in step 3, the table name should be changed through the query editor. Perhaps you changed it outside of the query editor?

Having the same issue with 'Home Table' greyed out.

Any luck resolving this so far?
