Matrix conditional formatting issue with the +/- buttons and the visual header buttons

If you have a matrix with a hierarchy on the rows and have both the +/- buttons enabled and the visual header hierarchy navigation buttons showing it is possible for the user to break the conditional formating.

If you have a matrix where there is conditional formatting applied to both the top level and bottom level of the hierarchy and you navigate the hierarchy exclusivly with either the +/- buttons or the visual header the conditional formatting works as expected. If you navigate down it removes it from the top level and if you navigate back up it reapplies to the top level again.

However if you navigate with a mixture of the two methods such as expand the hierarchy with the visual header and then go back up with the +/- buttons the top level will remain bold and the conditional formatting will not reapply.

Hi @Anonymous,

I got information below internally:

"This is the expected behavior, as noted in other previous CRIs.

Only the most-granular level of data receives Conditional Formatting.

Any collapsed node (Node showing + button and having bold text) is a Subtotal, and thus can't have Conditional Formatting.

When the user presses "-" to collapse, they are not "navigating" to the first level, they are just collapsing a node.

Navigating to the first level is done by drill up or Right click -> Collapse level"

Would it be possible to fix this issue? When opening only one column via the +/- bar the table looks completely different, and far uglier than it does without partial collapsing.

I've just come to grief on this issue as well. Any hint on the ETA for the fix?

Hi all,

We got the feedback from PG :

This is the expected behavior, as noted in other previous CRIs.

Navigating to the first level is done by drill up or Right click -> Collapse level

The behavior is documented.
