Line Chart Forecast Throws An Error On Power BI Online Service

Hello Team,

I have a simple line chart that shows sales for the last three years and then I added the trend line from the analytics tab and

I also have added a forecast trend line. It was working for the last two weeks then suddenly, it stopped working,  get this error below:-

MohanadMustafa_0-1649698524436.png

If I download the report to my computer, and use power bi desktop app, the line chart works just fine, the forecast works and I don't get any error, it only stopped working on the cloud service in Power BI this morning.

I am thinking this is a bug, I also have used a different dataset completely and tried replicating the issue and the line chart right away throws an error when I try to add the forecast line. The trend line is fine, its the forecast that drives the entire visual to throw an error and fail to display result.

Note: I do have a Power BI Pro license

Any suggestions please!

Thank you

Mohanad

Status: Delivered

Currently this issue should be fixed already in Power BI Service as far as I know and test, please check it again.

Best Regards,

Work around is to install March's version of PBI Desktop and republish to the service.

March’s PBI version can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update-archive?tabs=powerbi-de...

Guys no workaround yet that worked for me, I tried what @Squirejr  suggested and I got the same result

Bummer, I was just regurgitating what was said in the other thread by support.

Still in the process of getting IT support to install the March version to try the proposed workaround.

Thanks for letting me know.

I have also updated March's version and republished the report but still facing the same issue with forecast chart on Power BI service.

I am experiencing the same issue.  No problem on the desktop version, but in the online version I am getting the error.

I doubt the proposed workaround will be successful because it seems to be a problem with the portal and not the desktop version of PBI.

As we have no control over the "version" in the SaaS portal we cannot roll back to a previous version.

I am just hoping enough people are lighting a fire under the MS backside to make sure they roll out a patch for this ASAP.
