KPI visual shows floating-point near-zero values incorrectly

Capture 2.PNG

I just saw this lovely glitch 🙂 and I figured this should be a straightforward fix.

Expected behavior: round to zero

Actual behavior: default floating-point string value is shown, resulting in end-user confusion 🙂

Thanks!

Hi @lars_k,

Based on my test, if the data format for value or measure is Scientific, it will display with E format. You can try to change the data format to Whole Number or Decimal Number.

Thanks @v-qiuyu-msft -- that makes sense!

This is a real-time dataset coming in from Azure Stream Analytics. Can I change the data type in the web app?

Hi @lars_k,

In Power BI service, it's not able to change the data type. Please check which data type you defined on Azure Stream Analytics side.

Thanks @v-qiuyu-msft - I will change the Stream Analytics data type from float to bigint. I don't know why I didn't think of that before, since it works well for this situation. 🙂
