Inserting a Directquery table

When bringing in a new table, I am having trouble applying data to the file through direct query methods.

I get an error message "Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'Unable to convert an M query in table 'PRTH' into a native source query.'." I have tried 2 ways of getting the table, with the recent data source tab in transform data, and getting the table , as well as source > settings > then inserting SQL. I have looked at other solutions that say to "simplify" the steps to bring the table in, and as you can see in one file I only have one step. When I load the needed table on a blank power BI file, it works fine. We have 7 tables, 4 through direct query and 3 through import including this table. Thanks.

Status: Investigating

Hi,

Would you like to try to simply select the tables in the connection setting page instead of using the native SQL statement to query the data source to check if the problem can disappear?

Here are some cases with similar issues, you can take a look at:

Also I did try selecting the tables, I forgot to mention that. Both the manual SQL and selecting tables do not work.

Hi,

In my opinion, if you want to get a solution for this kind of inserting tables problem as soon as possible, I suggest you to open a support ticket to get direct help from the technical support team of Microsoft to have a remote session them to help you to make sure if this is an issue existing in the Power BI.
