Forecasting Bug

There appears to be a bug in the latest cloud update. Forecasting functions no longer work on my workspace. They worked earlier this week, but have not been modified or update.  I've testing with different datasets to confirm that the issue is with forecasting on the cloud based service (workspace).

Status: Delivered

Hi @alisenberg

Currently the fix for this issue has been deployed in some clusters, but it still needs time to be deployed for the global, the expected ETA for it is before the end of 2022/4/28 UTC time.

The bug with the forecasting functions no longer working is a major issue with the latest update, as we are using the forecasting for budgetary decisions.

Hi @alisenberg

So, the current situation is that when you use the forecasting function in the Desktop, after passing it to the Service, there is no way to see the information related to the forecasting function? This feature worked before, but it doesn't work after the latest update?

@v-yetao1-msft

Exactly. My desktop version was last updated in March so I think the issue may have to do with the April update.

Same exact issue. I just updated my Power BI desktop today so it occurred in a build after the March release I believe as the problem was not there after I installed the March release.

Same issue here as well.

Line charts with forecasting were updated yesterday by publishing from PBI desktop and now show "Can't display this visual". They were last published via PBI desktop on March 31 without issue.

Line charts with forecasting currently display without issue in desktop but when published to the service they error.

I found that if I moved the report to Premium capacity then published to web it works. Is this now going to be a paid feature? 😞

Hi, @alisenberg

It's a known issue . The ID of the issue is 301310678 . I'll be back with an update if there's an update. If you need to use it immediately, you can go back to the previous version and republish it to Service.

@v-yetao1-msft Reverted to Version: 2.100.1182.0 64-bit (December 2021) and still had the same issue.

BTW report is an existing report that hadn't been opened in recent releases.

For me it seems to appear in the Service regardless of Desktop version.

Non-premium workspace shows the error:

Premium workspace - no error:
