Filter Pane Scroll Bar

I love the Filter Pane but it requires a scroll bar, for users not using a mouse.

User reported he could not scroll down to items at the end of the filter pane on laptop with no mouse, using only keyboard and touch pad. He needs a scroll bar. He then discovered he can do it using Page Down on keyboard. I tested and cannot even get Page Down on keyboard to work on my laptop.

That leaves this filter pane unable to be used on laptop. I am going to have to go back to a Slicer page instead.

Hi @jblackshear

To scroll down/up in the filter pane, we need to use mouse to select the scroll bar firstly, then press Page Down/Up or Up/Down key.

Just curious, if there is no mouse or touch pad, how does the user open Power BI service and access the report? In my opinion, it's hard to open a Power BI service report without mouse or touch pad.

@v-qiuyu-msft  Doesn't this break with Microsoft's Accesibility requirements for Office 365 applications of working with keyboard only?

I thought Power BI was currently going through an intense process to ensure its committment to accessibility?

Hi @Anonymous,

Based on my research, the Office Accessibility feature doesn't apply to Power BI, it's for office apps only. See: https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/use-a-screen-reader-and-keyboard-shortcuts-with-office-apps-4aba5a56-f80c-4a6b-a584-d0f415471617

@v-qiuyu-msftEven so, shouldn't this be placed in to the development queue for repair to assist with the ongoing development that is occurring around enabling accessibility for Power BI?

To answer your original question of how someone would even access a report in Power BI service without a mouse, this is quite simple as most browsers are enabled for keyboard only operation. For reference see https://www.accessibility-developer-guide.com/knowledge/keyboard-only/browsing-websites/.
