Failure notifications not being sent

We are trying to use this new feature to send notifications to other users when dataset refresh fails but it doesn't seem to work. We tried all sort of variations, use a group email, use a user, added a user to be an admin of the workspace and so on and so on, but no one receives an email except the dataset owner, plus once the email was sent to random user which is not even in our organisation (different email address)!?

Does anyone has a similar problem or there is some limit when using this, we also all have Pro accounts so nothing like that

Hi @Anonymous, 

 

Based on my test, if we set Email these users when the refresh fails for the dataset, when the schedule refresh is failed, the specified recipients will receive refresh failure notifications. But if the refresh is failed when we use Refresh Now, the specified recipients won't receive refresh failure notifications. 

 

In your scenario, please set schedule refresh for the dataset and specify users for Email these users when the refresh fails setting, when the schedule refresh is failed, then check if these specified users receive emails.

Hi Qiuyun ,

 

We are doing the same thing, so it's not like this is our first time using the tool. Unfortunatelly we also created a support ticket and got some random reply which didn't make any sense, now we will also try with the person who wrote about this on Power BI blog, but from the looks of it, no help in the near future

just to see the issue, plus we also tested the email server, no address is blocked, nothing in cc or bcc, so simply email going just to the owner, and of course it's a scheduled refresh not forced refresh

As you already created a support ticket, please keep contacting with the ticket owner to get help. It would be better if you could post the solution here once the issue is gone.
