Excel Files saved in Sharpoint Folders Issue

Starting yesterday all excel files that are saved in Sharepoint Folders will no longer update. We have been using these files as sources for months without issues now every time you try to refresh I get a error "The credentials provided for the Web source are invalid. Please update the credentials through a refresh or in the Data Source Settings dialog to continue." No credentials have been changed. I have tried every option it gives you to Authenticate the credentials

Status: Investigating

Hi @nsmither,

You may refer to this blog: Credentials provided for the Web source are invalid - PowerBI - SharePoint Views. Remove the ‘/:x/r/‘ part in the URL to the Excel files.

Best Regards,

@v-cazheng-msft Thanks for sending this over. Unfortunately, this does not resolve the issue we are facing. when you are looking at the gateway connection it looks as though everything is correct and it is not throwing any errors however it just does not update on the web app. this led me to look into the pbix file on the desktop app and the desktop app itself will no longer connect to these excel files saved to a SharePoint folder either. each of these files was added using the web and coping the path from the excel file when you open it via the desktop app and removing the ?web=1 at the end however when looking at the ur there is no /:x/r/ .

@nsmither,

Did you mean that this report couldn't be refreshed properly with the credentials from Power BI Desktop as well? If you clear permission in Data source settings and reconnect to your data source, will the connectino successfully? If you check in Power Query Editor(Transform data), will you see any warning or error?

Best Regards,
