We cannot get an Essbase connection from PowerBI desktop to work correctly for our client. It will make a connection, but from there we can only see an empty folder and never any cubes or data.
What we need is some understanding of why this is the case. Is it a version (oracle side) issue? Permissions? Connection not set up correctly? Are there errors not being exposed or reported that could help troubleshoot?
I've run through all the Essbase information I can find in the forums and I see far more descriptions of issues than solutions or explainations of what be going wrong. Even a set of documentation that says "these cuircumstances or these versions or these parts of the connection don't work yet" would help a lot.
