Error when trying to reinstall On prmise Data management Gateway

I had to uninstall the On-Premise gateway and do a reinstall, when I initially tried to reinstall I got an error stating "please uninstall  current version', checked for the program in Program and Features and made sure it was not isntalled any more, deleete the file from C;\Program Files\ and then tried again and I keep getting the error, the on-premise gateway service however is still present but not running
