Hi @indkitty,

According to the error info, this issue should be caused by the invoke of Microsoft.PowerBI.Client.Windows.AnalysisServices.AnalysisServicesProcess component. If you still have this issue, please try this solution firstly to see whether this issue still exist: Uninstall Desktop and delete its installation folder, then reinstall it. Restart your PC and relaunch the application.

Thanks for your feedback. I realised BI Desktop is no longer supporting windows 7 OS. I uninstalled and reinstalled which was compatible with Windows OS 7. Still unsuccessful. Do we have a registry cleaner for Power BI complete uninstallation?

Hi @indkitty,

You may try to this solution.

• Please back up the registry firstly. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows (microsoft.com)
• Then, try to delete the registry key:
  • open up regedit (start --> run --> regedit)
  • navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products
  • Search for "Microsoft Power BI Desktop" which should be a subbranch of the above directory

                - it will look like "some random string"\SourceList\ which contains Media and Net

• • Right Click on that random string and select Export to back it up in case something break
  • Right Click on that random string and select Delet
  • Restart the machine
  • Reinstall Desktop

Issue was caused by installing lastest version Power BI Desktop on Windows 7 OS, which isn't supported.

Installed windows 10 version and installed latest version of Power BI Desktop and it is working now.
