Error getting OData from Microsoft Graph: Access to the resource is forbidden

Hello,

I am getting an error "Access to the resource is forbidden" when trying to access Microsoft Graph in Power BI Desktop report.

Microsoft Graph URL is https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/devices

I am logging in using Organization Account.

I have Global Admin role in the tenant.

The report was working normally for months, but stopped since yesterday.

I even tried creating new one - same result.

Accessing the same URL from Graph Explorer works fine.

What could actually impact this kind of error?

I see that today another update to PowerBI was implemented yesterday – since today there is no oAuth authentication available at all – it was just yesterday. oAuth.png

@bartekabThere's already multiple duplicate ideas for this.

I believe this one currently has the most votes; we should consolidate to that one:

I believe this is still a problem - correct?

This problem even contradicts MS's own documentation on customizing the Office 365 Adoption content pack.  https://support.office.com/en-us/article/customize-the-office-365-adoption-content-pack-9b76065f-29b...

You can no longer customize the reports following their instructions, recieving this very error message when attempting to load the data.

How MS thinks crippling one of their solutions from another MS solution is a good idea is beyond me.

Power Bi should be the default reporting engine for any MS service without question.

Has anyone found a good way to connect to Graph API?

@jevgenijmart Did you find a solution/workaround?

Hi I've created a step-by-step guide to deploy a custom connector that I’ve developed using the Power Query SDK. Maybe this can help you!

I found @ruiromano and @jevgenijmart had something that would work well, in a way that doesn't require someone to install Visual Studio or create a custom connector.

The guide is here - hope it helps someone else out!
