Date Formatting Rules not retained in Slicer

Hi,

I m using the latest version of Power BI Desktop and noticed two issues:

1. Copy a table in DAX Window with

Table1 = <ExistingTable> .

The formatting and summarization rules are not retained in the nw table. So you need to re define these attributes for each column again.

2. Apply formatting rules in the Modelling tab

For example Set date format to YYYY-MM-DD on a date column.

Now drag the slicer in for the formatted column.

It is expected that the format shows up at all palces this column is referred to by default. However, this is not the case.

Thanks & Regards,

Mannu

Hi @Anonymous,

1. I have reported this issue internally: CRI 86584006. Will update here once I get any information.

2. Which slicer mode do you mean? As I tested, the column values display in List and Dropdown mode of the slicer visual match the Format setting.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft Qiuyun Yu ,

For point No 2: Slicer formatting does not match the applied Date format.

For example, if I were to choose "Between Option" you can see that for the column, chosen formatting option is yyyy-mm-dd. However, it is showing in  MM/dd/yyyy format which is not desirable to my client.

Similar behavior is observed wrt date range selected shown as display text.
