Datasource for CRM 365 in Power BI Report Server, Unable to configure and set up subscriptions

Hi team,

I'm unable to update a dashboard that uses a datasource to our CRM 365 instance. The dashbaord can be edited in Power BI desktop (January 2019) and data refreshed, yet once saved on server the subscription is unable to run because of the authentication limitation.

Under the auth types, Organizational Account does not show up.

Do you have a workaround solution or is this planned for future releases?

Thanks

Hi @mpsrshl ,

From this document

  • If data source can be connected using only OAuth (e.g. Facebook, Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc.), then cache refresh plan cannot be created. At the moment, RS does not support OAuth authentication for any data source whether it is for paginated, mobile or Power BI reports.

It's not supported to refresh the report if it uses OAuth authentication currently. The workaround is refresh the report in Power BI desktop then republish it to Power BI report server.
