Dataset Refresh Failure Mail received but the Dataset Import showed succeeded in PowerBI Service

Hi,

We encountered a peculiar scenario today. We are in PowerBI premium and we have configured 4 Imported dataset to refresh on a daily basis and also we have checked the option to receive the notification mail if the import refresh fails.

We encountered a peculiar scenario today. where we received a failure email for refresh for one of the Import datasets, but when we checked in the PowerBI Service to trace the issue, but to our surprise, there was no error and instead the dataset refresh status showed succeeded. We dont know how this is possible, while we have received the failure email for the same dataset for the same workspace. We ran the refresh again, it got succeeded.

Note: For other 3,  they succeded (although it took bit more time - 16 mins) and we did not receive any mail either.

So the question is,

  1. Why we received a failure notification mail when the Scheduled Refresh succeeded

Or in other perspective like

  1. Why the Scheduled Refresh did not show any failure message instead showed the dataset refresh succeeded while failure mail was sent?

Could someone please help? This is urgent, we are in PROD.
