Data Type Change when a data item is accessed from Excel

Data Type Change when a data item which of type Whole Number is accessed from Excel where it is changed to General. Not sure how this is happening. I'm using generate series function in PBI to generate number from 1 to 100. lt is of type whole number in PBI but when the dataset is open as Analyze in Excel and the same data item is used in excel it is changed to type General. Can this be fixed?

Does this issue happen in power bi service feature "Analyze in Excel" or "Export to excel"?

I could reproduce this issue. Actually the data type will be changed to general in odc file. But could you please charify why do you think this is a bug?
