Corrupted Report

A report I was working on last week is now corrupt and returns an unusual error when trying to open it. I also downloaded it from the Service but the same error occurs when trying to open it. FYI I'm using the latest version of PBI Desktop.

The errors are posted below.2019-07-29_11-25-54.png2019-07-29_11-46-54.png

Hi @dharland

Which data source does the report get data from? Which connection mode do you use?

It looks like there is a issue with the account connects to data source.

Hi @dharland

I found the same issue has been reported internally: CRI 131433989 and CRI 137079056. The current ETA for this is September release of Desktop.

"We are aware of this bug and working on a fix. Until then you may ask the user to try the following workaround.

  • Open the pbix in the version of Desktop that works.
  • Comment the expressions of the calculated tables they have.
  • Save the pbix.
  • Open it in the new version. (This should work now)
  • Uncomment the expressions of the calculated tables.
  • Save the file.

The most comment thing that triggers this bug is having functions like TODAY(), RAND(), UTCTODAY() or NOW() in the expression of calculated tables. So if they are still having trouble opening the pbix after the steps above, ask them to stop using it while we have this bug in the product."
