Cannot Start PowerBI Desktop

I have just installed the latest powerbi desktop 64 bit version (november update) but I can open powerbi on windows 10.

When I launch (even as administrator) powerbi I receive a message box

You can not start powerbi desktop
It was not possible to connect to the model

How can I solve this issue?

Were you trying to open an existing PBIX file or just double click the Power BI Desktop shortcut but unable to start?

Hi,

I  meet the issue when clicking on the desktop/program bar shortcut.

The same when i open .pbix file.

Have you idea about the cause of that?

this happens when your application logs are full.  Believe it or not.  Delete your app logs and then restart PBI desktop and you will see it work.

Luisrh, could you give me a better explaination that delte your app logs?  You mean under event viewer?

Correct.  In Event Viewer you should clear your application log.

i have about 6 log files under applixations but none were large or over 1meg.  it didnt make a difference.  still will not load  atops after a minuteand says can not connect to model.  windows 7 pro. ati video card
