I confirm the latest PBI desktop release version 2.82.5858.961 dated 6/23 fixes the error issue.

Hello , we are experiencing the same problem. with the latest June update for PBI. we are receiving same error "we weren´t able to connect to the model¨ is happening with Windows 7 and windows 10. in some cases we found that instead of using 64 bits, if we use 32 bits works again. but not applies for all escenarios.

The latest Jun, 23 version 2.82.5858.961 currently available in the download center works well on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop. Thanks to the developers. What I don't understand is does MSFT publish anywhere information about bug fixing releases or did they just silently replaced files in download center? There is nothing here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update about 2.82.5858.961 version. Maybe I'm looking on a wrong page. I would prefer to be notified "we know about the problem and we're working to fix it..." and then "we have just uploaded the bug fix". I didn't notice any official comment in this post as well.
