Hello friends.

I recently had 2 problems with the Power BI of the month of June using Windows 7, the first problem started after the update when a message started showing that it was not possible to connect to the model and Power BI simply did not open. On June 23, Microsoft released a new release (2.82.5858.961) and Power BI opened again, but did not connect to any data set or Excel connection. I opened a call at Microsoft and after making a remote connection and capturing the logs for analysis, they reported that the problem was with the TLS version, as shown below.

/* Microsoft Message:

Can you please confirm if you have configured TLS 1.2 on your machine. If not, please upgrade the TLS version to 1.2 by following the steps provided in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/security/enable-tls-1-2-client.

Recently, Power BI has deprecated the TLS 1.0 and 1.1. So the users’ needs to upgrade the TLS version to 1.2.

Reference: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/deprecating-tls-1-0-and-1-1-support-in-power-bi/

I request you to please update the working status after upgrading the TLS version to 1.2.

*/

Researching more on the subject TLS I found a link at Microsoft (en-us) which is provided a fix (executable) that corrects the problem, I found it easier to use this fix than to keep modifying entries in regedit, users of the organization would have difficulty in doing such a procedure. Below is the download link:

https://support.microsoft.com/pt-br/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-default-sec...

Hope this helps!

See you.

I am having the same issue with message unable to connect to the model. Most of the comments seem to be around Window 7; however, I'm on Window 10 64 bit. Any suggestions?
