Bug: Hidden Tab can still be viewed by End User

If a report published to PBI Service is edited to hide a tab and the editor is viewing the hidden tab when the updates are saved, when an end user opens the report they see the vizualizations from the hidden tab. It is most likely caused by Power BI service still treating the hidden tab as the "start tab".

Hi @Anonymous,

The same issue has been reported before internally: CRI 57704849. It's by design that the end users can see hidden pages if we save the report on that hidden page. Please see detail information from PG team:

"By Design. Hidden pages is not a security feature, just a convenience for hiding DrillThrough pages that don't make sense without a filter context. Hidden pages are not typically navigable in Reading View, but if you have a direct link to that page or you save the report on that page. We open to the page that was open at last save. Please ask user to navigate to a different page in Desktop, Save the report, and then re-publish or upload."

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
