I recently converted from a local, pbi model that got data from on-prem SQL Server to a Live connection to Azure AS. I deleted all my queries and was able to connect to the Azure AS datasource. But when publishing to the Service, it tried to use my local gateway and connect to the original, on-prem SQL server.
It's like there was residual connection code that was confusing the report.
I was able to get around this bug by exporting it as a .pbit, importing the .pbit, re-saving, and re-publishing.
