Automatic page refresh in Power BI Desktop

Hi,

I have question regrading automatic page refresh in BI desktop that feature only for direct query it means every 30 min refresh the page with new data okay But this report publish on service that time why need gate way for refresh the page.

without connect gate way on service I get message regarding gate way see below image.

atleast without connect gate way on service showing report with old data not update data
