2FA during online editing session does not save changes

Was just asked for 2FA after working for a report online for an hour without saving.  After I submitted the 2FA i was redirected back to my old report, throwing out an hour of work.  This shouldn't happen.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Microsoft Power BI 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) or Multi-Factor Authentication is the process of secure Authentication in which a user or an organizational employee have to provide two factors to gain the access to Microsoft Power BI data. Microsoft Power BI two-factor authentication starts with user submitting his traditional username and password. Once user successfully gets authenticated with the 1st step verification, configured 2FA (OTP over SMS, Push Notifications, Google Authenticator etc) method prompts on for 2nd-step verification. After successfully authenticating with both of the steps a user is granted with the access to the Microsoft Power BI resources. This additional layer prevents the unauthorized person from accessing the resources even if cyber attackers get to know your credentials.

Until there is a better workaround, we recommend that you always save your reports.

If you would like to suggest  feature improvements, you may  vote the idea and comment here  to improve this feature. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
