Unable to reflect updated value in Power BI Service

Hi All! I have a dashboard with that user can set benchmarking. I have a table for list of KPIs in SQL Server. The idea is whenever a user update the value in SQL Server, there is a measure that will take the latest KPI value and reflect it in a chart. However, I have an issue with reflecting the latest KPI value in Power BI Service. I tried click "Refresh" whenever a value get updated or keyed in the table. Any ideas on what I am missing here?

@PBIX123,

What error message do you get when refreshing data in Power BI Service? Have you configured gateway and add your SQL data source within the gateway? You can review more details in the article below.

Hi @v-yuezhe-msft,

Actually I am currently working with PowerApps that will take user input for benchmarking. this input is then passed to SQL Server through SQL Script in Flow. Next, I create a measure that takes this value and then display it in line chart. However, when I update the value, it is parsed to SQL Server but not to my PBIX that connect live to Analysis Service.

@PBIX123,

Do you click Refresh button in Power BI Desktop?

@v-yuezhe-msft Yes, I did. sorry for the late reply!

I believe the problem is the SQL Server does not push the data to the data model used in Power BI. Did some research about real time data, and tried with streaming dataset. However, I can only manage create the table that I want to have real time data. I was wondering if current version support to stream dataset for one particular table and maintain the other tables in Azure Analysis Service to refresh only for the set schedule refresh?

@PBIX123,

You would need to split the tables into different datasets, one for streaming dataset, and other for schedule refresh.

@v-yuezhe-msft,

I believe that to one PowerBI report can only have one dataset. I have measure that do some calculation over this table. Moreover, this value will be visualize with data from other table in model in Azure Analysis Service. So, I need it to be based on my data model but the KPI_DEV can be triggered through Flow like a streaming dataset. Does current version support this functionality?

@PBIX123,

I am afraid that it is not supported.
