Hi everyone
I'm looking for a way to retrieve the size of a lot of subsites' subsites.
Basically, I know this information can be found already in SharePoint through the storage manager view (storman.aspx), but I can't grant the access to the user that need the information so I need to use a alternative way. So, I thought of powerBI (Powershell is not an option either for security reasons), the thing how can I retrieve and 'translate' the requests used by storman.aspx page into Power requests ?
I managed to do it for a specific subsite but I really need all the subsites of my specific sites - I have too many to audit and they keep growing so I need to automate my requests in order to retrieve all the subsites size...
Sooo, guys, would you have any idea to proceed?
Thank you for any feedback 🙂
@hisae1421,
Do you use SharePoint Online? If so, you can connect to Microsoft 365 usage analytics content pack in Power BI Service, this content pack contains storage usage report for SharePoint.
By the way, how do you retrieve and 'translate' the requests used by storman.aspx page for a specific SharePoint site?
Regards,
Lydia
Hi, Indeed I looked this way already and this application is great but unfortunately I don't see the detailed information for each subsite. It only get me the data for the "global" usage of SharePoint 😞
What I mean by "translating request used by storman.aspx" is basically this tuto 🙂 : https://blogs.partner.microsoft.com/mpn-canada/use-power-bi-help-manage-sharepoint-sites/
