I have connected the ServiceNow content pack and reports/dashboard are generated fine, but I noticed that history textbox where you put number of days has no impact on the report. I have refreshed the data but it is still showning me data for 1 June 2017?
Is there any way to get the live data from ServiceNow through this content pack? e.g. if I put 30 days I should take data for 30 days including today? Am I missing something here?
Thanks,
S
Hello @smerchant ,
I’d like to propose and alternative solution for you, you may connect your Servicenow instance to Power BI with the help of our add-on - Power BI Connector for ServiceNow:
We have a handy User and Admin Guides for your convenience, but feel free to reach out support team at support@alpha-serve.com if you need any assistance.
Thank you.

@smerchant,
I am afraid that you are not able to get the live data through ServiceNow content pack. This content pack includes your recently resolved and recently closed incidents, the data contains in it may not be up-to-date comparing to the data in ServiceNow.
In your scenario, you can transfer the data from ServiceNow to SQL Server database and establish a direct link between ServiceNow and SQL Server to get latest data, then connect to the SQL Server database from Power BI Desktop. In Power BI Desktop, you can create your own reports.
In addition, you can vote the idea that add a ServiceNow connector in Power BI Desktop.

Lydia
@smerchant,
There is no official article explaining these information. The official documentation about ServiceNow is as follows.
https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-content-pack-servicenow/
In addition, based on my reserach, you can connect to ServiceNow in Power BI Desktop by utilizing ServiceNow API, for more details, please check Raymond's reply in this thread.

Thanks. Do we know how many days of data is being returned from the content pack? 30 day or 60 days?
@smerchant,
You may need to check date column to calculate the days in your dataset.
Regards,
I did some testing and noticed that actually the dataset is quite recent, I think you might able to pull the latest data through this content pack. It is a shame that there is no clear documentation for this.
