SP list column type (Person or Group) returns as a number in Power BI

Hi Peeps - forgive me in advance for being a noob...

I have a SP list with a column type "Person or Group" so we can get people within our organisation.

When I grab this list and put it into Power BI, it labels them as a number.

  1. If SP knows who this person is, why do I get a number inn Power BI?
  2. Can I use the query editor to put people's names in the Power BI table?

Any help would be appreciated

Kind regards,

@warrenneal ,

Person and group type columns in SharePoint list are lookup columns which fields lookup into another SharePoint list, so you will get the value expressed as "Record". Please expand the Record as described in this similar blog and check if you get the name.

Or you can follow Vicky's suggestions in this similar thread.
