Hi Fonz11 -

Power BI service has a limit of 1 GB RAM for any queries that it tries to run.  The Desktop version does not have this limitation.

You'll need to either simplify your query by removing a column or two from your table, removing a measure from your table, or tune and optimize your measures.

If you post your measure, the community may be able to help you tune it.

Marco Russo at www.sqlbi.com has some fantastic resources on optimizing queries.

Hi @Anonymous

your comment is very helpful!

Just to confirm,

(1) Power BI has a limit of 1GB for each .PBIX file that is published into the PBI Service, as maximum Memory (RAM) allocation on the cloud cannot exceed 1GB per .PBIX.

(2) Is it possible to have a .PBIX that is under 1GB, therefore can we publish to the cloud, but a single visualisation exceeds the mximum Memory (RAM) allocation?

Thanks,

Laz

Hi @Anonymous,

The above error message means that your visual has attempted to query too much data for us to complete the result with the available resources. Try filtering the visual to reduce the amount of data in the result.
