Power BI Personal Gateway error: A key was declined.

Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of Power BI Personal Gateway (1.9.5826.1) on my Windows 10 machine, the Power BI Service says that the Gateway is not connected. On the Gateway status screen it first displays the following message:

And a few seconds later, it changes to this message which remains indefinitely:

I had the "key" issue before. It was my fault as I had deleted a column from a dataset that was referenced in a calculated field. Of course you should also check to see if both the gateway and the desktop version are both the newest.

I had a similar issue, uninstalling the gateway completely and then reinstalling fixed it for me.
