Hello,
Coming from the PowerApps world, we're able to create Custom Connectors and access on-prem data with no further interaction. HOWEVER, after reading this Microsoft Doc about PowerBI OPDG's, it seems there is an option to host the ACTUAL Custom Connectors (.json files), on the Data Gateway itself:
"...option to choose a folder from which to load custom connectors.."
I'm having trouble understanding the business case for this.
When/why would I need to host the connector on the gateway rather than in the "ether" where all my other Custom Connectors (at least with PowerApps) are hosted?
Thank yoU!

@ericOnline,
This option is useful when you want to schedule refresh for the custom data connectors data sources which are developed in Power BI Desktop.

Lydia
