We can't replace (update) existing Excel dataset for our customer. It is PowerPivot data model without any embedded reports and data connection (SQL Server) is done via data model not Power Query. We have 10+ reports based on that dataset. I first
tried uploading the updated dataset where 3 new columns where added to one table in the data model, 1 calculation and also 2 columns were removed. In the underlying database 1 column was deleted. All worked fine in the local Excel. After the replace/upload failure I recreated the database column and I tried to upload the original dataset. Upload/Replace still failed. Please give me some pointers on what could cause the failure?

As a hint, we had data refesh schedule activated for that dataset. When I changed the underlying database column, it gave the following error:
The 'country_vat_zone' column does not exist in the rowset.
Next refresh for Dataset_WeeklyReporting is scheduled for 09/15/2015 04:00:00.
