Data from API error

Hello everyone,

I get following error while fetching data in PowerBI (October 2017) from Web API which I have generated myself :

DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'http://proxy.xxxxxxxxx.com:3128/' (503): Service Unavailable
Details:
DataSourceKind=Web
DataSourcePath=https://<Client-ID>:<API-key>@<end-point>/v1/computer
Url=http://proxy.xxxxxxxxxx.com:3128/

Kindly help me out. What could be reason for this error? Credentials I have provided are correct though.

Regards,

Piyush

Hi Lydia,

Thanks for your time. Will sure check POSTMAN API. But the reason for this error is due to connectivity problem or due to wrong data being fetched? Why this Service Unavailable?

Kindly help.

Thanks,

Piyush

@Anonymous,

The issue could be caused by that you enter wrong API parameters in Power  BI Desktop. Please use postman to check if the API returns expected result.

@Anonymous,

What type of authentication do you use in Power BI Desktop? I would recommend you use postman to check  if your API returns correct result.

Also I would recommend you use latest version of Power BI Desktop.

Lydia
