Connected to VSO > Reports show (Blank)

Hello! I'm have connected my Visual Studios Online account to PowerBI, but it will no longer pull data for specific projects. It displayed data for my reports when I first connected it, but then a couple days later it now shows "(blank)". This is the case across two different projects/dashboards. When I denote * as the project so that it pulls all data from all projects, it will populate the reports with information from our entire VSO account, but not when I specify the project.

It connects to both projects without error, so I believe it recognizes them. I tried different forms of the project title but it shows an error that it doesn't recognize the project.

@gheye I would say use wildcard (*) to get all the data then use Projects field as slicer to filter on the specific projects. Also use this to do some troubleshooting and contact MS Support if needed.

@gheye Would like to know if you fix the problem, I got same issue, I connect to the MSIT internal VSO, but didn't get any data, it's just blank in the report.

Our VSO URL is https://microsoftit.visualstudio.com/OneITVSO/EUS-MSC-VVC-Process/_backlogs/Iteration/1612/1612-2

I use microsoftit as Account name, EUS-MSC-VVC-Process as Project name. And sign in with oAuth2 which is the only option for me. Is there anything in my configuration? how did you fix the problem? Thanks.

@peggywang I ended up having to dail-sync all of our VSO data and then filter each report by project to get the desired information. It can take a long time to sync that data from VSO but ultimately seems to be the only solution to my problem.

@peggywang, please notice that you have to be very careful with the project name because it is used to filter out data. If you specify text that does no match project name the load operation will succeed, but your dataset will be empty.

https://microsoftit.visualstudio.com/OneITVSO/EUS-MSC-VVC-Process/_backlogs/Iteration/1612/1612-2

In case of the URL you pasted, you can decode it in the following way:

Account = microsoftit

Project = OneITVSO

Team = EUS-MSC-VVC-Process

The value you entered was a team name. That's why there was no data.

Hi, I am tried to connect to VSO using the URL: https://skype.visualstudio.com/SBS/OQA/_testManagement?

 and given the details as below

Account: Skype

Project: SBS

But after connection is established dataset is having the field names but report showing Blank.

You can confirm that in the dataset refresh history, but I suspect that the load operation failed due to the timeout. Please notice that Content Pack does not support very large accounts. Data Connector is better suited in this scenario. You can compare both solutions here: https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/docs/report/powerbi/overview
