Analyze in Excel giving error when trying to add fields to pivot

Hi,

When using the Analyze in Excel feature from the PBI service, I generate the .odc file and open it.  Once the file opens in Excel, it creates the connection and generates all of the fields from all of the tables in my PBI report, and everything seems fine.  My issue is that it gives me the error "We couldn't get data from an external data source ..." in the attached screenshot when trying to add any field to the pivot.  I just downloaded and installed the latest 64-bit version of Analyze in Excel and I am using Office 2016 64-bit on Windows 10 64-bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @ScottR-MT

What is your data source? Could you please help to post sample data of your table?

When you "add any field to the pivot", Is the data in pivot table and data you are adding from the same table?

Best Regards
Maggie

Hi Maggie,

I am unable to add any fields, so the pivot remains blank.
