1. Power BI Desktop Data Transformations -> Transforming Data using Power BI Desktop -> Connecting to a Database
I'm right at the start, trying to follow the first connection to an Access database but I'm having trouble with date formats....
I've downloaded and opened the file PowerBI.accdb to Get Data.
If I duplicate the [Date] column twice, and format one duplicate as Date with Locale English (United States) , and one as Date with Locale English (United Kingdom) then both columns look the same (UK format).
I've already gone to Options -> Regional Settings and set Locale for Import to English (United States).
Get Data -> Access Database -> Choose the downloaded Access file.
Select the bi_date table only.
Create two duplicate columns from the Date column.
On the first duplicated column, choose Change Type -> Using Locale and choose Date and Locale English (United Kingdom). This formats the column as dd/mm/yyyy.
On the second duplicated column, choose Change Type -> Using Locale and choose Date and Locale English (United States). This also formats the column as dd/mm/yyyy.
