Lab 1 can't access PowerBI.accdb file

Now I remember why hate dealing with DeskTop software. I can't access the PowerBI.accdb file. I AM  using 32 bit PowerBI. I have 32 BIT 2016 MS OFFICE installed. I can open the access using MS Access.

Error:

Details: "Microsoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 32-bit version of the Access Database Engine 2010 Access Database Engine OLEDB provider is required to connect to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987."

Any great idea that doesn't involved uninstalling 32 office (corporate standard)

Hey @theobrien @robarbie @Marllye

I found the file in Github. Take a look....
GitHub - MicrosoftLearning/Analyzing-Visualizing-Data-PowerBI: This repository contains the lab file...

Good luck with it 😊

I am having a similar issue:

Details: "Microsoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine 2010 Access Database Engine OLEDB provider is required to connect to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987."

I have the 64 bit version of PowerBI desktop.

my office is the 365 ProPlus

Does anyone know how to reslove this?

robarbie,

I ran into the same problem. I am running the same Office 365 Pro Plus which is a 32-bit install. Therefore to resolve this issue, you will need to install the 32-bit version of PowerBI Desktop. Here is the download link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45331. Click Download then Select the PBIDesktop.msi and not PBIDesktop_x64.msi. Hope this helps.
